My boyfriend and i went to westgate with my parents, they are owners. We stayed in the lock off part of thier timeshare in the new 90 building. The part we stayed in was gorgeous! Bed room, full kitchen, bathroom, balcony. Very clean and comfortable. My parents half was even bigger, had a jacuzzi in thier bathroom and a double balcony! Lots of pools, but they get too crowded after noontime! Was never once pressured into a presentation or into buying. All staff i had contact with were friendly and nice.. sometimes the other patrons can be a bit obnoxious and noisy, but you'll get that anywhere. Close to all restuarants and parks. Its great! I recommend!

My teenage daughter and I spent 5 days at the Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa over the Christmas holiday. We liked the Smokehouse Grill on property - very good food at a reasonable price. Waitstaff was very good. The guest services person who helped us with the shuttle, rental car, and tickets to Universal was superior! He also got us some great deals on the car and park tickets. VIP Services, too, were extremely helpful. I read the horror stories of guests being pressured into the timeshare sales meeting. I was asked about it upon check-in, declined, and that was it. No one ever bothered me or even asked me again. The fitness room is fantastic. The drawbacks to this resort is it's enormous size. They do have golf carts to help you around the property, but it was quite cold when we visited so golf carts didn't make sense. They have a shuttle, but you will have to wait longer. My room overlooked the pool and basketball court. Basketball playing went on all day and night. The sliding door didn't keep out the noise. Bed was a matress on top of platform attached to the wall. Not comfortable and matress moved all night long. Overall, it was a good price and room was clean. Just too large with lots of noise and crowds.

Stayed from October 17th 2009 to October 24th 2009. Bought a vacation package from them last year to try out the resort before we bought a condo. Glad we did will never buy there after our experiance. They switched our room four times. 1st time is becuase the neighboring room had just kids in it and it sounded like they were tearing the walls out. The last 3 times is because we paid for the Wifi which is guarenteed to work in all rooms, only to find out it only works in about 1/3 of all the rooms Westgate has. When we complained about it they told us that it is an independent company that handles all the internet and they were not responsible for it. Unbeknowing to us the resort scheduled us a meeting with a man by the name of Fo, who was supposed to be our activities coordinater, to arrange out activity schedule for the week which we thought was a good idea so we promptly went. Well what it acutally turned out to be was another High pressure sales presentation like we experienced the year before. Remember, we paid to be here this time. They wasted 3 hours of our day trying to sell us on the resort again and made my wife cry again so we walked out. We told them that we wanted to try it out first and they said that 2 days there should have been ample time for us to ascess the resort. Our card reader for our door would jam and it took 5 or 6 trys to get the room open. We called about an ANT problem and they said their resort has no bugs so we were forced to buy ANT traps.

Our room was designed to be able to leave the sliding doors open at night with a screened in Balcony. So we woke in the morning to a room filled with bugs because 3 of the screens had big rips in them and 1 had been popped out of the frame. The activities were supposed to be included only to find out that if you were not yet an owner you had to pay. Come to find out at check in they were supposed to give us an owners card at check in and didn't. Finally got one 3 days later. The boats were closed all week and we had been looking forward to the paddleboats. That stunk. We had drunk people making lots of noise til 2 or 3 am everynight while we were there and kept calling security and they told us they couldn't pinpoint where the noise was coming from. The last night we stayed there were ploice in the parking lot because the drunks decided to duke it out in the parking lot and in the process damaged a car. The days that were supposed to be restful and relaxing were filled with the sounds of loud hammers and powertools from their new construction. Everytime we called for a shuttle to a theme park they told us it had just left. If you decide to buy just remember that they hide the maintenance cost's. They currently are $2500 a year. That is above your payment. Last year they were $1800 and are expected to rise every year. My wife and I will not buy there nor stay there ever again. Westgates Lakes seems to cater to a lower class of people. So Beware
